Ruusu Open Mic 28.04. + 19.05.2019
April´s not the cruelest month – neither is May!
Helsinki Poetry Connection summons again all poets, rappers, storytellers and songwriters for its regular open stage poetry club – Ruusu Open Mic!
Aprils´ (28.4.) Ruusu will feature warm-up acts by poets Diliana Stoyanova and Pekka Tiainen – in May (19.5.) the stage will be warmed up by poets Roxana Crisologo and Paulo Machado de Lima. After these invited acts it´ll always be the time for the main stars of the night – you. The open mic slots are limited to 30 and you can register for them during the first break, right after the featured poets. Unfortunately you cannot reserve your spot in advance and the running order will be randomly drawn. Please, note that each open mic slot´s 4 min long.
Each performer is carefully listened to and cheered on especially, if it´s your first time! You can also hook up your instrument or beats to our sound system with your own cords.
Ruusu Open Mic, like all Helsinki Poetry Connection’s events, is free from any discrimination. We don’t accept any racist or hateful content or behaviour.
The nights are free of charge and hosted by poet Ainokaisa Huusko. Welcome!
Notes: Unfortunately, Sörkan Ruusu is non-accessible. At the main entrance ~ 20cm step and door ~ 60cm wide, side door ~ 20cm step and door ~ 55cm wide, no ramps.
