Ruusu Open Mic 23.2.2020
Ruusu flourishes in the 20s! After breathtaking first club of the year we’ll shine through February until the next club night; on the last Sunday of the month.
This clubs´warm up actis include poet Vita Linfast and Lasse Hauerwaas with his new poetry publication Vostok (Enostone, 2019). Sörkän Ruusu´s February exhibition is also linked with Lasse´s new release!
During THE open mic anyone from the audience can come up and recite/sing/perform their own poetry/verse/rap. Each performer receives the full attention and cheerful encouragement of the crowd, especially if it’s your first time! The open mic slots are 4 minutes long each, and are limited to 25 people per night. You can sign up for your own set during the first break, right after the featured poets. Spots are not reserved in advance and the running order will be randomly drawn. You can also hook up your instrument or beats to our sound system with your own cord.
At the end of the evening we will draw six small gifts — donated by our lovely sponsors — among all open mic participants. Stick around to see if you’ll claim our monthly prizes!
Ruusu Open Mic adheres to Safer Space Guidelines. During the club we also have an induction loop available for the hearing impaired to use in cooperation with the Hearing Society.
