Ruusu Open Mic 26.1.2019
The new decade has arrived, and a renewed Ruusu Open Mic invites you to come forge lyrical connections with other sparkling wordsmiths once again. January’s warm-up performers are bright young poets Saartu Gada and Natalia Kallio — after which the main event begins, the open mic itself!
Each performer receives the full attention and cheerful encouragement of the crowd, especially if it’s your first time! The open mic slots are 4 minutes long each, and are limited to 25 people per night. You can sign up for your own set during the first break, right after the featured poets. Spots are not reserved in advance and the running order will be randomly drawn. You can also hook up your instrument or beats to our sound system with your own cord.
At the end of the evening we will draw six small gifts — donated by our lovely sponsors — among all open mic participants. Stick around to see if you’ll claim our monthly prizes!
Ruusu Open Mic adheres to Safer Space Guidelines found at Helsinki Poetry Connections´ website. During the club we also have an induction loop available for the hearing impaired to use in cooperation with the Hearing Society.
